The catamaran is designed as belonging to the B category of the ISO international standard, which means that sailing with 4 meters trough to crest waves comes to just 1/3 of its overall seaworthiness.
R12 is intended for sailing in the up to 200 miles wide offshore strip in such seas as Barents, White or Baltic, etc., in sea gulfs such as the Gulf of Finland, lakes, such as Ladoga, Onega, Peipsi-Pihkva, Baikal, etc. or in the estuaries of large rivers such as Northern Dvina, Ob, Yenisei, etc.
